New research trainees join the lab

We are fortunate to welcome 3 new research trainees over the next two semesters.

Michelle Wang is a fist-year PhD student of the Quantitative Life Sciences program at McGill. She completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Computer Science. She is interested in neurotechnology and brain-computer interfaces. Her rotation project with us consists in using neurofeedback to modulate specific oscillatory activity in pre-defined brain regions to boost performances in complex behavioral tasks.

Charlotte Sacré is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in neuroscience and minoring in mathematics. She joins the lab to do a research project focusing on designing computational models of oscillatory neural circuits. In the future, she hopes to combine her interests in neuroscience and computer science to contribute to the progress towards better treatments for various mental and brain disorders, potentially through a career in artificial intelligence. In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys hiking, discovering new cultures, and spending time with family and friends.

Jenny Zheng is a third-year undergraduate student at McGill majoring in neuroscience and minoring in computer science. After taking the McGill AI Society’s Machine Learning Bootcamp during her second year at McGill, she became fascinated by the intersection of machine learning and neuroscience. She will develop a convolutional neural network (CNN) that can detect epileptiform discharges in magnetoencephalography (MEG) recordings.
